SAINT JOHN – JANUARY 22, 2026 – Mariner is pleased to announce the appointment of Ian MacMillan as National Practice Lead, Privacy and Cybersecurity. Based in Fredericton, Ian will lead the continued growth and evolution of Mariner’s national cybersecurity practice, with a focus on helping clients strengthen security posture, reduce risk, and respond to evolving regulatory and threat landscapes.
Ian is a seasoned cybersecurity leader with a career spanning software development, systems architecture, and professional services delivery. From his early work as a developer at IBM to co-founding Beauceron Security, Ian has built a foundation rooted in technical excellence and entrepreneurial leadership. Most recently, he held a national role at MNP Digital, where he led the delivery of cybersecurity services for clients across Canada, supporting organizations in sectors including energy, banking, and technology.
Ian’s national perspective is further informed by his experience as an industry speaker and cybersecurity thought leader, where he has shared insights on building resilient security cultures, strengthening cybersecurity postures, and developing practical, people-centered approaches to cyber risk.

His background includes deep experience in PCI compliance, security awareness, information systems auditing, and offensive security – allowing clients to address risk in a way that is both rigorous and realistic and meets their business objectives.
In addition, Ian brings valuable insight into Mariner’s partnership with Beauceron Security, further strengthening Mariner’s ability to deliver human-centric cybersecurity and security awareness services that support lasting behavioral change within client organizations of all sizes.
